Mental Health Counseling is offered individually to clients at least 18 years old via in person or telehealth.
Methods used may include cognitive behavioral therapy, faith-based, modern yoga psychology, meditation, and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). There is not a one sized fits all approach nor will every client receive the same methods. It will be based on your need, goals, and comfort.
My goal is to provide a safe and secure environment as well as to honor my own strengths and scope of practice. Therefore, if there are any reasons, I feel I am not the best fit to help you with your specific request, I will make a point to find you a solution. You'll never be left to figure things out on your own.
It is my mission to guide you through this hard time by addressing all aspects of what makes you perfectly and uniquely you. From a whole body and mind perspective, we can close the book on self-doubt and negativity and move you into the life you deserve.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Ketamine is a medication that is commonly used in hospitals as an anesthetic and pain reliever. It works by blocking certain receptors in the brain and spinal cord, leading to a dissociative state and a feeling of detachment from one’s surroundings. Ketamine can temporarily alter a client’s perception and consciousness offering opportunities to explore thoughts and emotions in new ways. Ketamine is thought to increase the “plasticity” of the brain for short periods of time from days up to weeks. Ketamine is sometimes used in psychotherapy because it can help clients achieve a state of increased introspection and openness.
What Can Ketamine Do For You??
Ketamine has been shown to have rapid and powerful anti-depressant and mood stabilizing effects which can be seen within hours or days of treatment, not weeks or months as with anti-depressant medications.
Ketamine is thought to create changes in the brain's glutamate system, which plays a role in regulating mood, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms. This can generally improve quality of life and help you become unstuck.
Ketamine causes altered states of consciousness that can lead to enhanced creativity, insights, and awareness. This supports new perspectives on your relationships and experiences and fertile ground for change.
